Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we manage organisational knowledge. It is no longer enough simply to store information and make it searchable.

Organisations need to know what the current state of knowledge is, who is responsible for it, and within what scope it is to be applied.

Knowledge infrastructures lay the foundations for identifying, further developing, publishing and making such validated bodies of knowledge available across systems.

The focus is no longer on the document itself, but on the validated body of knowledge.

With KAPRI – Knowledge Asset Package Reference Implementation – we are developing an open conceptual and technical framework for the interoperable publication and verification of knowledge assets.

KAPRI is a step towards Knowledge Networks: decentralised networks in which organisations can publish, reference and interlink responsible bodies of knowledge independently of one another.

For such networks to emerge, common rules are needed for the interoperable publication and use of responsible bodies of knowledge across system and organisational boundaries.
